Katie Taylor (nee Colegate) is a painter/textile artist who was born in Denver and grew
up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. From the mountains to the ocean, she enjoys harnessing
the power of nature in her work. She has been fortunate to travel throughout her life,
which has influenced her appreciation for experiencing different cultures and landscapes.
Her vibrant, ethereal works evoke a cosmic spirit and seem to radiate their own energy.
She has her B.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in drawing and painting from
California State University Long Beach (2014). During her undergraduate schooling, she
discovered her love of textile dyeing and color theory, elements that she continues to
explore as her expression evolves.
